Cooking with energy-efficient cookstoves fuelled by biomass pellets is a <b>cost-effective and healthy alternative<\/b> for cooking for local people, greatly improving their quality of life. In addition, the pellets are made from <b>waste from pine and eucalyptus plantations<\/b> at the <i>ECS<\/i> production facility in Ndola, Zambia, making them a fully renewable resource in the circular economy. \n<i>Emerging Cooking Solutions<\/i> will use the loan to purchase materials for the production of <b>7,500 innovative and highly energy-efficient biomass cookstoves and 3,500 tonnes of waste products <\/b>from pine and eucalyptus plantations for the production of the pellets. This leads to less wood being logged. Additionally, <b>air quality improves significantly<\/b> with the use of these stoves, thereby <b>reducing health risks <\/b>associated with indoor air pollution, which can cause severe respiratory diseases. This will fund the <b>production, distribution, and sale of cookstoves to 7,500 new customers<\/b>, as well as the market launch of their new <b>IoT (Internet of Things) cookstove<\/b>.<\/p><p>The second loan is offered in a <b>tranche of \u20ac100,000.00 <\/b>(including fees). In the first tranche, which concluded in June 2024, \u20ac199,200.00 has already been raised through the bettervest crowd.<\/p><p>The term of the loan is <b>5 years<\/b>, with an annual interest rate of <b>up to 8.0% <\/b>for crowd investors. Investors who invest in the project within the <b>first two weeks<\/b> will receive an additional <b>early-bird bonus of 1.0% per annum<\/b> (resulting in a total of up to 9.0% per annum). The funding threshold for this project is set at \u20ac50,000. If the funding goal is not met but at least the funding threshold is reached, the project owner will still use the investor funds to acquire materials and invest to a lesser extent in the The company was founded in <b>2012<\/b> with the idea of <b>replacing charcoal with pellets made from waste biomass for cooking.<\/b> The founders were invited by the Swedish Embassy from Europe to Zambia to present their idea. Inspired by the people, opportunities, and the country, they chose Zambia to establish their business.<\/p><p><i>Emerging Cooking Solutions<\/i> is a <b>distributor and manufacturer <\/b>of <b>energy-efficient cooking solutions<\/b> for households, restaurants, and institutions, with the vision of making <b>clean cooking solutions affordable and accessible for all Zambian households<\/b>, reducing deforestation, and mitigating negative climate impacts.<\/p><p>The company distributes <b>microgasification stoves <\/b>under the <b>Mimi Moto brand<\/b> and is also a manufacturer and distributor of its <b>own microgasification stoves, the SupaMoto Microgasifying Biomass Stove 4kW, and SupaMoto-Pellets<\/b>. The pellets are produced from waste generated by pine and eucalyptus plantations at the <i>ECS<\/i> production facility in Ndola, Zambia. The company has <b>pioneered<\/b> pellet production in Zambia and researched local biomass suitable for pellet manufacturing. Additionally, in recent years, the company has developed an <b>Internet of Things (IoT) platform<\/b> that connects the stoves to the internet.
